India and England win the T20 World Cup. The Indian cricket team led by MS Dhoni won the title for the first time in 2007, while the defending champions England won the title in 2010 and 2022.
Interestingly, the two teams also met in the 2022 semi-final with England Cricket taking a 10-wicket lead led by Jos Buttler and Alex Hales. England won their second T20 title by beating Pakistan in the final.

 
India last reached the T20 World Cup final in 2014 when they lost to Sri Lanka.
India are unbeaten so far in the 2024 T20 World Cup and secured a top-four spot by beating Australia in the Super 8 final earlier this week. 

After starting the season with a win over Ireland, Jasprit Bumrah's heroics helped them to a poor performance against rivals Pakistan. They then defeated the United States to move into the top spot, but were eliminated in their final group match against Canada.
They easily beat Afghanistan and Bangladesh in the Super 8 stage, then beat Australia, who had beaten them in the ODI World Cup final last year. 

Skipper Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh have been India's best performers in the tournament so far but Virat Kohli's performance has been poor. On the other hand,
England narrowly advanced to the group stage. They performed well in the Super Eights, beating West Indies with ease, but defeat against South Africa halted their momentum.
They needed to beat Team USA in the final match, and this overall performance did just that. They defeated the home team by 10 wickets and 62 balls, significantly improving their result and confirming their place in the semi-finals. 

The British race in America was run by Phil Salter and Jos Butler. Adil Rashid and Jofra Archer both took wickets.
